Nia hosts various culturally significant events each year that honor history, celebrate heritage, and foster community connection. Our signature events include:

Black History Quiz Bowl

A youth history competition held annually in February.

Juneteenth Month

An annual celebration of the legacy of Juneteenth. This one-of-a-kind experience in the birthplace of the Juneteenth holiday includes lecture series, concerts, and cultural events.

Emancipation Celebration

Our main Juneteenth event is a star-studded and entertaining evening of gospel musical celebration. We also celebrate our Champions of Freedom Award recipients at this time.

Kwanzaa

A celebration of family, community, and culture that includes African drums, songs, prayer, dance, spoken word, public recognition of Village Keepers and distinguished elders, and a Ujamaa marketplace.
