As soon as my family and I walked in, we felt the love. Every day we came, there was a different event going on (the art walk and the send-off of Miss Juneteenth Texas). We will definitely come to visit again any and every time we visit Galveston.

The Juneteenth Headquarters & Gallery

The Juneteenth Legacy Headquarters is located at 22nd and Strand Street. The gallery is open to the public Tuesday - Sundays and closed on Monday.

Our Juneeteeth 'Absolute Equality' Mural, a 5,000-square-foot art installation chronicling the emancipation of Black people in Galveston.

A journey through African American history from the 1800s to the present

A gallery featuring rotating exhibits including sculptures and paintings by local Black artists

Where to park:

Parking in Downtown Galveston is metered. There is street parking which is billed hourly or lot parking, such as the one adjacent to the mural, that is billed at a full day rate. For more information on parking please see here.
